Flo has had a tough life, she was on death row because she was heartworm positive. We funded her treatment through the HeartBeat program and a rescue took her on, but the rescue hit hard times and closed down. We retrieved Flo and posted here on Rescue Me, and she had several applications. Today, she was picked up by her forever family!

A friend of mine passed away and his Springer was going to be euthanized and buried with him. I convinced his family to give the dog, JJ, to me. He had some health issues, but I posted on Rescue Me and I was swamped with emails from people who wanted to help. The English Springer Spaniel Rescue contacted me, arranged for someone to meet me and pick JJ up, and he's now in foster care, getting the attention and love he deserves. All within a day! I appreciate the kind and helpful people who answered my post, and I know JJ is being taken care of by someone who understands his problems and know hows to help. Rescue Me, thank you so much! Jeff Gold, thank you, and thank you to everyone else who helped JJ and me.

Seneca was posted on Rescue Me less than one day before a slew of phone calls and emails came in inquiring about her. The first one who inquired was able to drive to my home to visit with Seneca today, and fell in love pretty quickly, and took her home. Thank you to this website for helping me find a loving home for my very loved pet.

Seth was adopted this week to be a service dog for a little boy with autism and they are the BEST of friends now. Seth is working out perfectly for them. So happy about this for him. From death row to helping a little boy in so much need of a special fur boy. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Rascal is on his way to his forever home! Rescue Me is a blessing! When my father became ill and incapable of caring for his special needs Shihtzu, he felt there was no alternative other than euthanization. I was determined that Rascal would have a chance to find a happy, healthy, forever home. Thanks to this fabulous website, I found there are a lot of wonderful people with BIG hearts were willing to love him unconditionally. Thank You!!

Juno has found a wonderful new home through Rescue Me alongside another Redbone sister and, best of all, a pair of humans who really know and love Coonhounds! She has landed in the country with room to explore, scents to follow, and a warm bed to return home to on evenings. Do I miss her? Yes. Am I happy for her? Absolutely! Thank you for providing this much needed, heartfelt website, Jeff.

This was my first time ever posting on any site. I do not work with ANIMAL CONTROL, I AM JUST A CONCERNED CITIZEN WANTING AND TRYING TO HELP. As soon as I was finished posting all the animals in our local animal control, it seemed like only minutes before I started getting emails about Harley and Dutchess.. Today, Joe from our animal control called with good news. Now I will go there daily to check and see who I can help. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Thanks to Rescue Me, Hercules has found a great home! He was found a few months ago near starvation. We fattened him up and got him through the cold winter and in the process fell in love with him. However, we only let him in when it was very cold and he was lonely. He would sit and stare in the window at me and usually fall asleep sitting up. He was such a deserving dog and I truly wanted him to have a home where he could snuggle inside all the time. I posted him on the Rescue Me site and the next day got a call. A very nice lady had a dog the same breed as Hercules that she wanted a companion for. He is now inside and plays all the time with his new friend. I cried when he left but I couldn't be happier for him and his new family!

Garth and Paisley's human companion died suddenly and left many of us bereft and at a great loss for how to find a proper, loving forever home for our brother's faithful dog companions. Since Garth and Paisley are a bonded pair, it was absolutely critical that we find them a home together. A friend-of-a-friend helped us get the dogs posted on Rescue Me and the PERFECT family contacted us saying that Garth and Paisley were just what they were looking for for their large ranch home. Rescue Me provided the answers to our prayers, the new family's prayers, and what we believe would be the wishes of our departed brother. We're forever grateful for the great work of Rescue Me.

Precious had been hit by a truck, suffered a badly broken leg, and been shot at as she scavenged, starving, looking for food. She wandered onto our property and I knew I had to do something. I reached out to my community via the internet and wow, the response was incredible. A number of donors came together to cover nearly $1000 in expenses for Precious. Her leg was amputated. She had many return trips to the vet for setbacks. But in a few weeks she was healed, gaining weight, energetic, and happy. The only site I used to post for her adoption was Rescue Me. A man hundreds of miles from me who recently lost his BMC wanted her. We met midway for the introduction and it was love at first sight. Precious went to her forever home that day, loved.

Shylow was re-homed THREE times and SOLD in his short five and a half months of life prior to entering the Bloodhound Rescue. He is now in his FINAL STOP at his forever home living with a former BH owner and his red tick hound sister on a beautiful ranch. Thank you Rescue Me for having this amazing social networking platform available to save these precious and sensitive Bloodhounds from being victims of circumstance. Shylow is our third posting and all three of our Hounds of love have found the best matched families inquiring hours after posting. We look forward to utilizing Rescue Me again and will recommend this amazing site for those who need. Thank You to the founder, Jeff and his staff.

Our story is rather odd. I was sitting in the hospital room with my terminally ill husband and thinking that I should find a companion for my Theodore since he would now be alone while I was at work. Since he is a Corgi, I went to Rescue Me and selected the Corgi icon. Kale was listed as a Corgi mix. The picture made it obvious he had been accidentally listed on the wrong page. Having been terrorized by an unpleasant neighbor's nasty Chihuahua as a very young child, I have always disliked the breed. But one look at that face, and the fact he'd been waiting so long for a forever home, I lost my heart. He is sweet, smart and a champion cuddler. I believe there was a reason he was put on the wrong page for me to find because he is exactly what we needed. Theodore and I adore him. My husband passed on New Year's Eve and Kaleb has eased the pain of the huge hole in our hearts.

Thank you, Rescue Me. Diablo went to a lady who had lost three members of her family within the last two years and was struggling to get out of bed. Having been thrown or kicked resulting in a break in two places in one of his legs, Diablo had his special needs also. They found each other!!!

I was able to find a home for a difficult to adopt, adult Pit Bull through Rescue Me. After Cancer treatments I was left too weak to care for my beautiful, four-legged friend. A new owner took the time to get to know my girl and has fallen in love. My wish came true!

I posted Quincy for my 89 year old widowed next door neighbor who had just moved into an assisted living facility and had asked me to please find a loving home for his five year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is a sweet little dog, but she had two years earlier injured her right eye and the vet was unable to save it, so her eye had to be removed. I wasn't sure if she would be adoptable, but the response from Rescue Me was incredible! I received seven calls in less than 24 hours and was able to schedule a meeting with a family who sounded like they were ideal for Quincy. They came to our home and met and played with her in the afternoon, and said 'We have found a new member for our family'. I appreciate Rescue Me so much and am going to list them as my designated donor site for my Therapy Dog club. I could not recommend them more highly! Excellent, and the website was very user friendly. Thank you so much! God bless you, Jeff Gold, for this wonderful service!

I had a great result getting a home for the Belgian Malinois puppy. I got close to thirty responses within two days and was able to place her with a local family, where I can check on her for the first couple of months. I was quite surprised and pleased with the many responses for this wonderful breed. We rescued her, we're not breeders, and I'll come back to Rescue Me any time we have a dog for adoption.

I took Emma and Teddy to my home ready to find loving families for them. Thanks to your Rescue Me, I found great and loving families for both of them in less than 24 hours! BIG thanks to you, Jeff and Rescue Me! You made a BIG difference in their lives!

Rose found a wonderful companion within 24 hours of posting on Rescue Me- And she had two backups in waiting! Rose is the dog that keeps on giving. You see, it's not Rose that got rescued. We found Rose six years ago for my mother-in-law through dachshund rescue. She was a wonderful pet and companion for my mother-in-law for all those six years. Now that my mother-in-law is unable to care for her, Rose has moved on to 'rescue' another spry elderly woman in need of a pet companion. Thanks to organizations like Rescue Me, Rose has been able to perform her role as serial companion. All's well that ends well. She has made us all happy. Thank you for offering this great vehicle service to find homes for pets.

Thank you Rescue Me! One month after we rescued a sweet, high-energy girl who needed lots of time and attention, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The prognosis is excellent, but the process would be months and we wouldn't have the time to spend working with our doggie. We also did not have a lot of time to find her a new home before chemo started. I found the Rescue Me website, posted, and within two days we had offers from two different, absolutely wonderful homes whose references were excellent. Her new family drove six hours to pick her up one day, and back the next and she is so happy in her new home. Not only that, but they are sending us updates and have offered to let us bring our kids to visit her next time we are in their town. Thank you so much for facilitating this beautiful adoption. We could not be happier!

Through Rescue Me, Rudy found a new wonderful home. I couldn't ask for a better situation for him, though I miss him very much! I was concerned because Rudy was an adult dog that had a limp. Because my kids were empty nesting, he would have endless days of being home alone on the couch. I didn't want to leave him outside those long hours for fear he would dig out or harm his leg worse. There was little hope for him if I went through the humane societies. Within a few days on Rescue Me, Rudy's new mom notified me, and he is doing excellently!

Received a call from a 12 year old girl, who wanted Preston for her brother for a present. She said her brother's Chihuahua had died. Told her I needed to talk to her mom and she gave me her mothers work phone number. Found out from her mom that she was her foster daughter, who she will be adopting. And her brother is with his foster family but coming to visit for three days. This little girl has such a love for animals, she wants to be a vet one day. I met this sweet family and hope Preston will be as happy as they were to get him. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Thank you so much, Rescue Me! We just adopted a beautiful St. Bernard, Sophie. She is the biggest sweetheart and fits into our family just perfectly! Our St. Bernard/Mastiff puppy loves her to death and plays with her whenever she can, while our older dog enjoys her company. All of our kids just love her so much.      I wanted to let you know about a man named Ray who lives in another state, over four hours away! He called me about Hank because he was heartbroken at having recently lost the dog love of his life after only seven years together. There was something about Hank that gave Ray reason to hope he could find a new dog to love and cherish. I never knew how Hank came to be at our shelter, but in the process of the adoption, I learned that he had been surrendered by his owner just before being admitted to hospice. It seemed so fitting they were coming together to fill the holes in one another's lives with new love and devotion. It was an honor to help bring these two together through Rescue Me. Thank you so much for providing this resource!

Your site is wonderful. We lost our eight year old yellow Lab in August due to kidney shutdown. We were devastated and kept checking Rescue Me daily. We found Mike, whom we loved at first sight. He is now part of our family and will go RVing with us and his sister, our little Chihuahua 'Lola'. We are a great family once again. We know our Rusty (yellow lab) would have wanted us to adopt another rescue. RIP Rusty we will always be in our heart eternally.

My brother passed away after a 26 year illness. He had adopted Wolfie, a Siberian Husky, last year when he was much healthier. Wolfe was his companion, friend, bed warmer and, above all, FurChild. When my brother passed, my Parents, who are both not in the best of health themselves, were at a loss as to what to do with this 100 pound bundle of electricity. A quick search, a friend's suggestion and some surfing led me to choose Rescue Me. After one photo, a phone call and a prayer, a man called me and we set up a meet and greet. It was a prayer answered. Wolfe has a family whose energy level matches his, and he can be as active as he needs to be without fear of hurting anyone. Our family could not be happier with the follow up letters, emails and the kindness we experienced with this somewhat hurtful re-homing. Thank you, Rescue Me.

We just adopted AJ through Rescue Me and what a wonderful result! A perfect replacement for our lab/husky, Hannah, who passed two years ago. We realize that you can't ever actually replace a dog, but AJ certainly has both the looks and personality of our former dog and will certainly fill a void in our lives for the past two years. Thanks, Rescue Me, for the gift.

This morning a wonderful couple came to visit Joey and they seemed to have fallen in love with him, as has their dog Riley. Joey and Riley seem like they are going to be best friends and buddies. It makes me feel good that placing Joey with them was the right choice. They are going to continue sending us pictures of him and have told us we were more than welcome to come visit Joey at any time which makes us feel so much better. Thank you, Rescue Me, for finding our Joey a forever home where we know he will be happy in and making us feel we have made the right choice.

Bailey is in a transition period. She is very nervous with change of any kind. We not only found the perfect home for her, but also a kind hearted new owner who is willing to take the time to adopt her so that Bailey can get used to her new surroundings. We are actually doing play dates for about two weeks so that she is totally comfortable with the transition into her new home. This is the best of both worlds for Bailey, she can take time getting used to her new family and pulling away from her old family. She will have room to run and farm animals to play with! Who could ask for more? I am so glad that we posted her on Rescue Me.

This little girl rescued our hearts. We welcomed Lucy into our home, and she quickly became part of our family. Just a few days after seeing her post, we were in touch with the Lucy's previous owner and the foster family. We made arrangements to meet and play with her, and soon after, we brought her home. She has brought new joy to our family, and is getting along famously with our 12 year old cat. We are grateful to Jeff Gold and the Rescue Me organization for providing this website and adoption service.

My husband and I took in two strays that were wondering our court. We took them to get checked for chips and they had neither chips nor tags. We then went the 'old school' route by putting up flyers and calling vet offices, and shelters to get the news out that we had them if they were in fact missing. It seemed no one was looking for them, but they were so sweet and smart that we just didn't have the heart to dump them at a shelter or animal control where they might be put down due to 'space.' Two days after we found them, I found Rescue Me and holy cow! In two days time, one of them had a home and a day later the other did too! We were able to meet both families who are spoiling them and loving them as we speak! It was such a blessing finding this amazing site to help these amazingly sweet dogs. We can't save the world, but we can make a difference in the lives of the ones when the opportunity presents itself. Thank you, Rescue Me!!!

Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping me find the perfect home for Fred. He was a starving and very sick puppy when I found him and his brother. The local shelter was full so I took the dogs home. His brother was adopted right away while Fred needed time to get well and adjust. Yesterday, he moved to his forever home. A family with four children adopted him and Fred will get all the attention and love he deserves. He is a very happy, loving dog and this site made it possible to find the perfect match.

We really didn't want to have to re-home Mae, but she just wasn't comfortable with our small child. Through Rescue Me, we were able to connect with a K-9 trainer. Mae is entering into her new life as a working dog and I sincerely believe that this will fulfill her working needs and give her the quality of life she deserves. We were contacted and worked with the adopter to make the transition smooth for everyone. Of course, tears were shed, but minimized by the fact that we knew she was entering into a great new life. I would absolutely recommend this site as a way to re-home your pet and connect with people that can provide a home that meets their needs. Just remember to please screen your potential adopters carefully and call on references provided. Thank you!

We were so happy to be contacted by a lovely lady through your Rescue Me site. She was interested in one of our little dogs, Wendy, that we'd been trying for a long time to find a home for. The lady had been widowed some time ago and following a long time of healing following her traumatic loss, was finally ready to open her heart to a dog. She visited our shelter and fell in love with Wendy. So, off they went together to her home where Wendy has settled in well. She now has a lovely warm bed instead of a wood pallet, and some brand new toys to play with! This lady has fallen in love with her totally. We love happy endings! Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping us find Wendy her new forever home. A little donation has already been made!

I wanted to share my story to help encourage others trying to find a home for their pets. I tried everything and had almost given up finding a home for our puppy. I am so thankful that I came across Rescue Me! I found the perfect family for our puppy and couldn't be more pleased. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found out about this site. I think it's a wonderful thing that Rescue Me is doing to help people in finding homes for their pets or people looking to adopt. We have a terrible problem with people dumping animals out on us and it just got to where we couldn't afford to feed everyone while trying to take care of our family. I feel really good that I did my very best for our puppy and I couldn't have done it without Rescue Me. Thank you!!

Emily, a young Treeing Walker Coonhound, was pulled from Columbia, SC Animal Shelter. She was due to be euthanized last week. I fostered this gorgeous, sweet-tempered girl until a home could be found. The posting was submitted and a lovely family contacted me shortly after. Emily and I met the family yesterday, and I took her to her new permanent home this afternoon. Emily is very fortunate and will love having a large yard and six children to help take care of her. I encourage everyone to donate to Rescue Me! There simply aren't enough forums to match dogs in need with people who want to adopt. The shelters are full, and the volunteers (like myself) and the rescue groups can't keep up. Please help Rescue Me to continue their amazing work.

What a fantastic service Rescue Me provides! We were fostering our daughter's three year old Kelpie Mix. Our daughter could not keep her due to her change in marital status. Korra is a wonderful dog but we were unable to keep her. Our lifestyle and work schedules were not suitable to the needs of a Kelpie. Korra loves to go on walks, play ball and is a delightfully active dog. We asked friends, family, associates and even posted her on Facebook. I searched for Kelpie Rescues and Rescue Me came up in my search. I am so very thankful that it did! I had several inquires about Korra within days. I am so thrilled to report that Korra met her new family yesterday and the adopting family is everything and MORE than I could have hoped and prayed for. Korra needs stability and a forever home. Korea has had a long trail of being bounced around from the original owner to shelter to our daughter, to her husband and then to us. Korra is such a sweet and loyal dog but the instability she has endured has made her less trusting than I know she will eventually be. Now that Korra has a forever home she will have the fine, happy, healthy life she deserves. The couple who adopted her are great people and we look forward to hearing from them and getting photos from them of Korra as she finally settles into her new and forever home. Korra means companion and I know she is a good companion. I will miss having Korra with us, but I know she is finally where she belongs! Thank you so much Jeff Gold for developing this remarkable website and program.

We recently adopted Buddy, a three year old Blue Pit. He has been an amazing addition, adding laughter and love to our family. He is such a kind, playful, beautiful dog with no aggressive behavior at all. We have a blind dog in the house and Buddy has been really loving to him. Just truly blessed to have lucked upon Rescue Me. His owner, Rhonda, was amazing, honest, helpful in all possible ways, and was very thorough in making sure Buddy went to a kind, loving home. This has been the best, all around experience I have ever had adopting a pet and I will send everyone I know who is looking this way. Thanks for everything!

Rescue Me made finding a home for Samson so easy! We had several people respond to his post and he was adopted within four days. The best part about Rescue Me was that the people who were interested in Samson really had a heart to rescue and not just buy a dog. They really just wanted to give a dog a chance at life; we had a really great experience using this website. I am so so thankful that we found a loving home for our dog.

I always check your website when I receive emails about new animals being listed. I found several of my babies on your site. It is the best! Gibby had just been listed and I fell in love with him right away. My husband and I are driving 500 miles round trip tomorrow night just pick our new addition. I am so excited about the Rescue Me site. Without you, we would not have our little boy and many animals would end up unwanted pets. Kudos to you all.

Poor Satchel waited and waited as others got adopted at his former rescue. We listed him on Rescue Me and he found his perfect, forever home. Satchel was a victim of the east coast hurricane that almost wiped the eastern seaboard off the map. With his home and his family gone Satchel had given up hope till he was found locked in the garage of what was left of his family home. Moved to NYC, the poor boy looked and looked for his family. They never came. As the days came and went, so did Satchels hope of finding his family. We come upon him at his former rescue and fell head over heals for this big lover. We took him home to the country and he fell in love, But living in a foster home was not the same as his own. Satchel watched as others came into the rescue and left without so much as a look. We found Rescue Me and started using it simple and so easy to navigate. A family contacted us and the rest is rescue history. Satchel is in love with his new family and doing so well. Thank you Rescue Me for helping us find the perfect family for our hunk of love Satchel. Much love the unchained love gang.

My nine year old Chinese Crested was recently diagnosed with Diabetes. Due to my work schedule, I would be unable to give him the necessary insulin injections on a consistent basis. I certainly wanted Romeo to get the best care possible. He is such a sweet, loving dog. I posted Romeo on Rescue Me and had five people contact me the first day. I am so grateful that in this world we live in that there are such kind caring people out there.

As a rescue that only works with dogs with special needs, Double J Dog Ranch is always searching for new avenues to get our adoptable pets exposure and into great homes. Vinnie, our deaf and visually impaired Great Dane pup, was the first dog we listed on your website. Within the first week we were receiving inquiries about him and he was adopted into a wonderful home with another Great Dane. Vinnie's new mom drove 8 hours to come and pick him up and we are thrilled. I can't wait to get all of our dogs listed on your amazing website! Thank you, Rescue Me!      Thank you so much Rescue Me for providing a way to get information out about a dog in need of a new home. We are thrilled to let you know that my mom's 10 year old husky has a new home that she seems made for. Her new life will be with another female husky, who was looking for a buddy, and three humans! She will have room to run and so much attention! We already have feedback that she has been 'talking' to her new family. That is a sure sign that she is comfortable and happy. I had originally been concerned that her age would be a road block, but we had five calls on her over about a month's time. We took her for a visit and when we headed for the car to go home, she headed for the house where her new family lives. All it takes is the right fit and we are so happy that she has found it.

We got Nala when we first moved into our house. We have two small children that love dogs, but they are very shy and don't like dogs that jump and nip. After a few months, she scared the boys so much that we had to make the tough decision to give her up. I posted her on the Rescue Me website. Within 12 hours, I had two people wanting to adopt her. No more than 24 hours, I found a great new home for this dog that I loved so much. It was so hard letting her go, but I was so relieved to have found as good of a home as I did.

A huge thank you to you, Jeff, for a wonderful service through Rescue Me, and to our dog's previous family, and an even bigger thank you for the precious gift of 'Vincie'.

She showed more interest in this family's son, than she had to anyone all day. So, it was very much meant to be. She will have another dog to play with, a great yard and all the attention and love she deserves. Plus, I have become wonderful friends with the woman who has adopted this little girl. A win win. Thanks again to Rescue Me, a wonderful site, for allowing us to connect with the best possible pet owners and make new friends.

The moment I saw the ad for Manny I knew he was going to be ours. He looks like a mini version of our Maxwell and Murphy. Truly, Manny rescued me. We had to put our precious Murphy down yesterday. The pain in my heart is like nothing I've experienced and I know the tears will be ongoing for a long time. But now, as I write this, I'm laughing and smiling, watching Manny run around our house playing with toys that are everywhere. He is a little angel taking care of us. I have told him already (we've just got him five days ago) that I'm his mommy and he is going to have the best life ever. He kisses my tears and makes my heart feel better. Thank you, Rescue Me, for sending him our way. The timing is unbelievable. He was meant to be with us!

Odyssey was adopted. His name in the dictionary means 1: a long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes of fortune. 2: an intellectual or spiritual wandering or quest. I believe both meanings fit this, especially blessed, heartworm positive puppy. Odyssey was found wandering the streets. Odyssey is a nine month old Corgi/Bassett hound puppy. Officer Fuentes rescued Odyssey and brought him to a veterinary hospital where he stayed in a small cage. He had been roaming around for a while because he appeared very dirty, hungry, thirsty yet very grateful. He was eventually transported to be boarded. Officer Fuentes took photos and eventually took him to the vet to get vaccines. We followed the 'seven business day hold' protocol awaiting their human parents to claim them. No calls came in. No one wanted a heartworm positive puppy. I started receiving inquiries on Odyssey from Rescue Me from a woman named Beatrice. After several emails and phone calls, Beatrice and her husband Mike 'just knew' Odyssey was to be theirs. We had Odyssey neutered and he had some healing issues and was back and forth to the vet. Beatrice sent me pictures of her and Mike's beautiful home in the country on a horse ranch with their two dogs and horses. We discussed Odyssey's medical history since he'd been with us, and we discussed him flying to their home. Officer Fuentes felt that flying may not be suitable for a heartworm positive puppy. Beatrice said she would work on another option. She informed me that her husband Mike would be driving or flying during the week to come get their new fur baby. I was ecstatic with joy for Odyssey's new life! Mike landed safely and rented an SUV. We met at the veterinary hospital. Mike spoke to the vet about the heartworm. He filled out the adoption paperwork as he bonded with his new four legged fury son. When he finished, I put 'Odyss' in the animal control truck with me, and Mike followed as we set out for a shopping trip. 'Odyss' got a new crate, pillow, cloud neuter collar, treat and food for his long ride home. I felt like I could cry as I watched Mike sitting on the tailgate enjoying watching his new puppy munching on his treat in his new crate. I had to get back to work so we parted ways. Beatrice emailed me pictures the next day of her, and the dogs. She promised to keep in touch and has sent emails and pictures since. Thank you Mike and Beatrice for everything you went through to give this wonderful, stray, heartworm positive puppy an amazing Odyssey!

I am truly so happy to find such a fine Doberman (our second) and to be able to adopt him into our home directly through the previous owners. Many rescues impose so many restrictions and have no trust in the ability of a prospective adopter to handle behavior problems or to re-train the new dog thus denying the prospect the chance to even interview, meet the dog or be approved for adoption. I am a dog trainer and though Duke may have some issues, these issues were made very clear on the site and can be addressed appropriately by me with training and proper handling in the home. I don't believe the Duke's issues warranted his euthanasia and we are very happy to have him and that he can continue with his life in a new home. Thank you so much to Rescue Me for helping us to find Duke and give him a new home.

I fell in love with Emmy Lou when I saw her picture on your website. When I showed her to my husband, he said 'call right away what are you waiting for?' We were the first to call, got our application in immediately and were approved. The foster family was amazing. It was unclear if the puppy possibly had Giardia. The foster mom kept the puppy for a week to treat her and then got a stool sample to assure she was clear. The foster mom, sent me pictures everyday and updated me throughout the day on Emmy Lou's antics and progress. It was hard to wait to pick her up, but when we got her it was worth every minute. We lost our 15 year old boxer/lab mix and were missing having a dog in our lives. Emmy Lou has filled our hearts again and we could not be happier.      I just want to take a minute to express my gratitude to Rescue Me. It has been a real struggle for me and my kids to put Duke and his daughter up for adoption. My living situation changed and, unfortunately, resulted in us having to make this decision. After posting Duke, I got a text asking for more info! I sent pictures of both of them and was very surprised when she wanted to see both. We met. My babies went to her right from the beginning and never barked one time at her! We arranged for her to take them for a weekend to see how things went with her and her son. We then met to get their shots and really connected, I was able to see that my dogs were going to a very loving, warm home! Your site connected me with someone who loves my babies as much as I do! Truly blessed, thank you so much for your service.

Buddy was found as a stray in extremely poor condition. The person who found him was not able to keep him, was only able to get him off the streets. He was then relocated with a young man. Unfortunately, the landlord would not allow him to keep him. Then a babysitter was added to the mix, and that's where I came in. I saw him being walked and commented on the dog. He needed a home. They were unsuccessful, tried all they know, and were fearing they might have to put him down. So, Buddy came home with me. After trying approximately 60 different names, we kept Buddy which is what the babysitter was calling him. He seemed to like it well enough. This poor dog, approx eight years old, did not know any of the basic commands. He didn't know what a toy was or even a milk bone. He had gained weight, but he was still horribly thin. Veterinarian visit showed worms, but no heart worm. We treated and started on preventative. Buddy is a great dog, however, was never taught not to kill cats, chickens and squirrels. Not only did he kill seven chickens, almost got a few barn cats, and house cats (who were subsequently locked in the basement). He scaled fences, broke through large inside wire kennels, opened house doors, and so on. He also was not into human contact. He accepted it, but either way was okay with him. After working with Buddy a few weeks, (with our house cats still in the basement and pretty mad at that!), he caught a chicken and brought it to me still alive. Huge Progress! He also learned to sit, to lay, and fetch. Oh, he knows what toys are now, and is loving pets and scratching and loving the affection. Thanks to this site, Buddy was placed today in his new home. He was not an easy one to place. It had to be just the right person willing to continue his training. Buddy came from a really dark place but, thanks to Rescue me, his remaining days will be happy.
